Toy & Book Drive 2023

The holiday season is a time of joy, happiness, family, and friendship. This year, the Redwood City Police and Fire Department, PAL Center, and Parks Recreation and Community Services, have teamed up yet again with The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League, San Carlos Fire Department, Woodside Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, Redwood City 330 Squad Club, and the CARON Project in order to continue our annual Redwood City / San Mateo County Christmas Toy and Book Drive. With help from the Fair Oaks Community Center and a corps of volunteers, this annual event has become a welcomed tradition in the Redwood City community. This tradition can only happen with the community’s help.

Last year, over 94 local businesses filled 124 donation barrels with toys. In return, these toys were provided to over 800 families that needed assistance. Deliveries usually take place with Santa Claus riding in a police car or a fire engine and personally delivering presents to kids and families. This priceless experience gives the kids a thrill they’ll long remember. Families wishing to be added to the Christmas Toy and Book Drive you can use the following link below:

We are currently collecting donations for our 2023 Toy and Book Drive. This support can be in the form of requesting a toy and book collection barrel(s) for your business, by providing a monetary donation of any amount, or by putting a new toy or new book in our various toy barrels (We have a toy shortage for ages 7 to 12 years old, all genders). In addition to local business locations, toy barrels will be located at all Redwood City Fire Stations, the Redwood City Police Department, Woodside Fire Department, San Carlos Fire Department, The Redwood City CHP Office, and associated San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office facilities or buildings.

If you are interested in having a toy collection barrel, volunteering, or making a donation to our program, please fill out the form on the 2nd page of the letter below and email it to the address on the form. Monetary donations of any amount can also easily be made by clicking the “Donate Money” button below.
